News Room

Sept. 23, 2016: Knox Alerts is the notification system used by the Knox County Emergency Management Agency to notify residents and businesses of emergencies or critical situations and provide information regarding necessary actions, such as evacuations. Notifications can be made via phone messages, text messages, and emails. The system automatically utilizes the telephone companies’ 911 database which includes land-line telephone numbers, whether listed or unlisted. If you have a cell phone or email and would like to be notified that way, you must register those telephone numbers and/or e-mail addresses by completing the on-line registration.  To register, enter the below address into your web browser.
