Due to the Christmas holiday, the Knox County Health Department will close at noon on Friday (Dec. 23) and since Christmas is on Sunday, the agency will be closed on Mon., Dec. 26.
The agency will be open regular hours on Dec. 30, but with New Year’s Day on Sunday, the agency will be closed on Mon., Jan 2.
There will be no evening cessation classes this week or next week at the health department and next Tuesday’s cessation class at Knox Community Hospital has been cancelled. All cessation classes will resume the first week of January.
The laboratory that tests water samples for the health department will be closed on Friday (Dec. 23) so the only time to drop off water samples this week is Wednesday by 9 a.m. There will be no drop-off available on Thursday. Next week, the drop-off and pick-up schedule will return to normal.
Also, due to the holidays, there will be limited medical clinic services next week at the health department. The nurse practitioner will not be onsite Wednesday and clients are encouraged to make appointments for immunizations, including flu shots. To make an appointment, call 740-399-8009.
