Board Members

The Knox County Board of Health is comprised of nine members; six members are appointed by the Knox County District Advisory Council, known as the DAC; three members are appointed by the Mount Vernon City Council. Board member terms are five years. There are no term limits.

In addition to appointing board members, the DAC brings recommendations and health issue concerns to the Board’s attention. The council is composed of the chairman of each township’s board of trustees or a designee, the mayor of each village and the president of the Knox County Board of Commissioners. The DAC meets at least once a year, usually on the third Tuesday in March.
