The Cribs for Kids/Safe Sleep program is funded by Ohio Department of Health to reduce/prevent infant mortality in Knox County. Families will be educated on safe sleep environments, safe use of a Cribette/Pack 'n Play and be given information on other resources available to them in the community to keep their babies safe and healthy.
How to receive a Pack 'n Play
In order to receive a new Pack 'n Play or Cribette, you must:
- Knox County resident
- Meet income requirements: qualify for Medicaid, WIC or financially eligible
- Be at least 32 weeks gestation or baby is already born and is less than a year old
Upon the birth of your baby, Knox Community Hospital will give you a packet of information on the health department's "Programs for Pregnant Moms, New Moms and Babies." If you deliver elsewhere, and meet the criteria to receive a Pack 'n Play or Cribette, simply call the Knox Public Health at 740-392-2200 ext. 2237 and speak with Jessica Parker, RN to schedule a home visit or a visit to the Knox Public Health if it's more convenient for you.
