Here at the Health Center, we want to help you succeed on your journey to good health both when visiting us in the office and once you’re back at home. So we can better work together, our Virtual Blood Pressure Monitoring Program gives us real-time blood pressure data to make adjustments and monitor your progress without additional office visits.
Here’s how the program works:
- Meet with one of our medical providers for a baseline health assessment. At this time, if your blood pressure readings indicate that they are elevated, then we can discuss your enrollment into the program.
- We will work with you to determine attainable lifestyle changes, like: working more fruits and vegetables into your diet, small changes to get you up and moving, and maybe even medication.
- Then, you get to go home with your very own blood pressure monitor!
- When you take your daily blood pressure readings, they are sent directly to us. This way, your medical provider will get real-time data to review. If there are adjustments in medication they would like to make based on your readings, they can just give you a call and complete a televisit - saving you time and money!

How can I tell if I have high blood pressure?
Common high blood pressure symptoms:
- Feeling tired more often
- Frequent headaches
- Nausea
- Out of breath with normal daily activities
- Indigestion (heartburn)
What blood pressure readings should I watch for?
Blood pressure is made up of two numbers - one on the top of the reading (systolic) and one on the bottom (diastolic). These numbers are readings of how well your blood is traveling throughout the body. The TOP number measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart is beating. The BOTTOM number measures the pressure in your arteries between heart beats. A normal/desired blood pressure reading is 120/80 (or lower). The first stage of hypertension (beginning range of high blood pressure readings) is 130/80. As these numbers increase, so does the risk for heart attack and stroke. That’s why it’s so important to monitor frequently get started with recommended lifestyle changes while working with a medical provider here at the Health Center.
