10/22/20 - Knox Public Health wants you to know that you have the opportunity to vote safely in the November 3, 2020 General Election. Several options exist for you to exercise your fundamental right to vote. In particular, you may:
- Request an absentee ballot by mail. Ohio law allows you to request an absentee ballot until noon on Saturday, October 31, 2020. However, election officials strongly encourage voters to request their ballot no later than 1 week before the election (Tuesday, October 27, 2020) in order to allow the US Postal Service adequate time to mail both your request form and your completed ballot. You may also drop your ballot off at the board of election’s drop box without having to leave your vehicle.
- Should you wish to vote in-person, you may consider voting early at the board of elections up until 2:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 2020, or at your polling location from 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. In either case, we STRONGLY encourage you to utilize the “curbside voting” method, which will allow you to vote from your car without exposing yourself to other voters. A bipartisan team of election officials will provide you with a ballot that you will be able to privately and securely cast.
- Ohio law permits additional voting opportunities for confined or unforeseeably hospitalized voters. Contact your local board of elections for additional details.
Should you have any questions about these options, please contact the Knox County Board of Elections at https://boe.knoxcounty.oh.gov/ or (740) 393-6716.
