4/27/21 - Wednesday (April 28) will be the last walk-in COVID-19 clinic at the Mount Vernon Energy Field House – at least for now. Knox Public Health (KPH) is switching its vaccination efforts to other locations, plus offering scheduled appointments once a week at the Knox Public Health location on Upper Gilchrist Road.
Wednesday’s walk-in clinic will offer two different types of vaccine - the two-dose Pfizer vaccine – and the single dose Johnson & Johnson which was cleared by the CDC this past Friday after a two week pause. Several hundred doses of each vaccine will be available at the Wednesday clinic.
While there will no longer be first-dose COVID-19 clinics at the Field House, all second-dose clinics already planned at that location will take place as scheduled.
As far as other locations for walk-in clinics, Knox Pubic Health will offer COVID-19 shots Wednesday afternoon (4/28) at the Danville Memorial Park, 802 S. Market St. from 2-4 p.m.; and next week on Tuesday (5/3) at the Bladensburg Community Center from 5 – 7 p.m.
The next COVID-19 clinic offering appointments is Wed., May 5, from 1 to 4 p.m.
in the KPH conference room. To access the online scheduling system, go to: Gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov; enter your zip code, address, town or city; and available scheduled clinics in Knox County will be listed. A link to the scheduling website is also available on the Knox Pubic Health website, knoxhealth.com.
Both the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are expected to be available at upcoming COVID clinics sponsored by Knox Public Health.
