8/10/2021 - The Knox Substance Abuse Action Team (KSAAT) invites the community to a series of educational events throughout the month of August. The events seek to reduce stigma, encourage intervention conversations, enhance life-saving skills and provide support to families. All events are free to attend. Participants can register online at ksaat.org/ksaat-calendar.

Aug 12 Substance Use Disorder Brain Disease, presented by The Freedom Center and Riverside Recovery Services held at KCH Urgent Care Conference Room, 1490 Coshocton Avenue, Mount Vernon, Noon-1:00pm.

Aug 12 Teen Sexting Panel, featuring New Directions Domestic Violence Shelter, Knox County Job and Family Services and Knox County Prosecutor’s Office held at Ramser 4H Activity Center, 700 Perimeter Drive, Mount Vernon, 3:00-4:00pm.

Aug 19 Meth, Heroin and the Human Body, presented by New Vision to be held at KCH Urgent Care Conference Room, 1490 Coshocton Avenue, Mount Vernon, Noon-1:00pm.

Aug 26 Narcan Education and Distribution, presented by Knox Public Health to be held at KCH Urgent Care Conference Room, 1490 Coshocton Avenue, Mount Vernon, Noon-1:00pm.

Aug 31 International Overdose Awareness Day, presented by KSAAT, the Freedom Center, Hospice of Knox County, Knox Community Hospital, Main Place and Riverside Recovery. Join us at 7:00pm at Heritage Center Park 404 South Gay Street to remember those lost to overdose and to show support to individuals and families who have lost their loved ones and friends.

KSAAT is a coalition of community members and organizations dedicated to reducing substance abuse among youth and adults in Knox County. We are all a part of the solution. For more information or to get involved visit ksaat.org.
